Welcome to my official website KrisTravis.Com! I'm so excited to be able to have my own website where I can share my thoughts and stories with you as I come back into wrestling after kicking cancer's ass! You have all been amazing in your support, so this is my way of documenting my comeback as well as showing you some of the many highlights I've had during my time in wrestling. I hope you like what you see so far, but I've got much more coming your way on the site. Thank you for visiting! Kris =) x
Birthday: December 16th 1983
From: Sheffield, UK
In-Ring Debut: 2002
A 13 year veteran of the squared circle, Kris Travis is a true student of the game, with an unwaivering love and passion for wrestling. Growing up idolising Hulk Hogan & Bret "The Hitman" Hart, the wrestling bug led to Kris pursuing a career in the ring. During this time, he's proved himself both as a solo competitor and as a tag team wrestler alongside Martin Kirby and Scotty Hexx.
During 2014, Kris was given the news that he had stomach cancer, and has had to take time out from wrestling. During this time, a huge wave of support from the wrestling community has helped him push through, and now he is preparing for his return to doing what he loves most. Please take the time to visit Cancer Research & Weston Park Hospital's websites and donate to help cure cancer once and for all.
Kris Travis is one of the best wrestlers in the UK. If not the world. He’s been in the ring with some of the biggest household names in the sport including WWE superstars Kevin Owens and Finn Balor. He’s had worldwide acclaim from the likes of Chris Masters & MVP.
But Kris’ biggest battle came from outside of the squared circle when he was diagnosed with stomach cancer after months of feeling unwell last year. Resigned to doctors predictions that he would never wrestle again after having most of his stomach removed, he focussed on the much bigger battle at hand of surviving and beating the disease.
“It took around 7 visits to doctors before my disease was finally found. They put a camera down my throat, and that was when they found the tumour.” said Travis, 31.
The professional wrestling world came together to support the superstar, who was forced to pull out of his opportunity with TNA Wrestling as part of British Bootcamp 2. Shows up and down the country were organised, with wrestlers working for free, special merchandise and DVDs being produced and fans donating money with all proceedings being donated to Kris’ cause.
He told us: “I can’t thank those people enough for what they did for me. The fans, the wrestlers, the promoters. In wrestling you’re often forgotten about very quickly, and life moves on. But nobody forgot about me. They supported me and I just can’t express in words how much that means” – Read The Full Article Here.
In this addition of Shoot to Thrill, Vince talks to former contestant of TNA’s British Bootcamp, Kris Travis, a young man from the UK whose promising wrestling career came to a screeching halt when he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. In a miraculous series of events, not only did Kris DESTROY his disease, but he is not training for his return to the ring. Simply a true story of faith, belief and bravery!
