I'm so excited to be able to have my own website where I can share my thoughts and stories with you as I come back into wrestling after kicking cancer's ass! You have all been amazing in your support, so this is my way of documenting my comeback as well as showing you some of the many highlights I've had during my time in wrestling. I hope you like what you see so far, but I've got much more coming your way on the site. Thank you for visiting! Kris =) x

During this time, a huge wave of support from the wrestling community has helped him push through, and now he is preparing for his return to doing what he loves most. Please take the time to visit Cancer Research & Weston Park Hospital's websites and donate to help cure cancer once and for all.

Day 1.
So….. Wednesday the 3rd of March was quite an historic day for me. After 6 long months of chemotherapy I finally felt well enough to get myself back in the gym and try and get my life on track. I actually have one more week of chemotherapy tablets to complete before I am 100% finished, but I feel strong enough both physically and mentally to start my journey again…. A journey that I’m hoping will ultimately end up with me getting back to doing what I have loved doing for the last 13 years…..WRESTLING!
Before I was diagnosed with this horrible illness I was quite strict gym wise and would always do certain muscles on certain days blah blah… Bit of a gym snob actually! But for the next few weeks until I am back into the swing of things I am just going to do whatever takes my fancy! My workout I accomplished was the following :

7 mins on the treadmill…. 2 was running.
12×2 chest press machine on 20
10 chest press machine on 20
12×2 flys with 4dbell
12 flys with 6dbell
15 tricep pull down 6.25kg
Shoulder Press-12 on 6dbell
10 on 6dbell
Bicep curl – 12 on 11.25
10 “”
9 “”
Finish off with boxing bag. 3 x 2 minute rounds.

As you can see, the weights and intensity of the workout was quite shocking to the normal wrestler…. But trust me, this workout has absolutely destroyed me! Haha as I write this it is March 4th and I am in SO much pain! But good pain y’know, the type of pain you have after an epic workout.
Let me tell you….. I was having quite the funny looks as I was using 4kg weights next to a guy using 25’s! But you know what I didn’t care if the weights weighed 4g, I was proud…. I am still proud. I’ve done something at one point I never thought I would do ever again and that is step foot in a gym and work out!
It’s been quite the emotional journey, it’s so hard going from having a good body ( well I was happy with it! ) , long hair and a tan….. 13.7 stone and enjoying life. To a skinny bald headed pale dude who is 10 stone odd, soaking wet holding a hammer. Not being able to look at yourself in the mirror at times because you were ashamed of what you saw. But NO MORE! Now I’m proud…. Proud that I have started my come back. Proud that I am getting my life back on track. And proud that I haven’t let this defeat me. I know it’s going to be a long road….. I might never be in good enough shape to wrestle again. But I’m determined to give it a try….. And trust me, I won’t let myself down.
So yeah that was my first blog…. My first step back into wrestling and a normal life. I’m going to post these every week I think along with progress pictures. Thanks for reading and thanks everyone for the support. Appreciate it!
Kris =) x
